01 · How We Work
We learn how it works before we change it.
Every project opens the same way. We go through the tools you use, the data moving between them, and the steps someone is doing by hand, then write it down as a plan you can actually read: what we would build, what it costs, and what we would leave alone.
If we think the thing you asked for is the wrong thing to build, you hear that before you pay for it. A vague request turns into a concrete scope here, which is the cheapest place for that to happen.
How a project runs
We look at what you already have
The systems involved, where the data lives, which steps are still manual, and what you are actually trying to reach.
You get a written plan and a fixed price
Scope, trade-offs, risks, and what we are leaving out, in language you can hand to someone outside software.
You see it while it is being built
Work goes up as it is finished, not as one reveal at the end, so changing direction stays cheap.
You keep everything
The code, the accounts, the domain, and the documentation. Nothing depends on a platform of ours.
02 · Website Design & Software Development
Written by hand, not assembled.
Marketing sites, web applications, internal dashboards, and the systems that connect them. We design and build from nothing rather than fitting your business into a template, and we write the code instead of stacking plugins.
That takes longer at the start. In exchange the page loads quickly on a phone with a weak signal, costs almost nothing to host, ranks on its own merits, and can be changed years later without a rebuild.
What we build
- Marketing websites and landing pages
- Web applications and customer portals
- Internal tools and dashboards
- APIs and the integrations between systems
How it's built
- Written by hand — no page builders, no themes
- Fast on a phone with a weak signal
- Accessible and secure by default
- Documented as we go
Yours to own. You keep the code, the accounts, and the domain. Any developer can pick it up after we hand it over.
03 · Business Automation
The work nobody should be doing by hand.
Almost every business has a job that exists only because two systems will not talk to each other. Someone re-keys orders into a second system, reformats a supplier file every morning, or rebuilds the same report every Monday.
We replace that with software that runs on a schedule and logs what it did, so a wrong number can be traced instead of guessed at. One recent build pulls in product feeds from a set of distributors, works out which listings are the same physical product, and produces marketplace-ready upload files without anyone opening a spreadsheet.
What an automated step looks like
- No manual steps
- Runs on a schedule
- Every run logged
Jobs we have replaced
- Re-keying orders into a second system
- Reformatting a supplier file every morning
- Rebuilding the same report every Monday
- Chasing the same approval by email
04 · Cybersecurity Consulting
Find the way in first.
A review here is not a vulnerability scan with a logo on it. We read how your system is actually assembled and work out how someone would get in: which accounts hold more access than the job needs, what an attacker can reach after the first foothold, what your build pipeline pulls in from the internet, and where customer data ends up once it leaves the form.
What you get back is a ranked list of fixes with the reasoning behind the order. If you have a brochure site and no logins, we will tell you your money is better spent elsewhere.
What a review covers
- Who can log in, and to what
- reviewed
- How the pieces fit together
- mapped
- Dependencies and build pipeline
- checked
- Where customer data ends up
- traced
- A fix list, worst risk first
- delivered
Start at the top of the list and stop when the remaining risk is one you are willing to carry.
05 · Incident Investigation
Work out what actually happened.
A breach, a leaked file, an account doing something nobody can account for. The first hours matter, because logs roll over and disks get overwritten while people are still deciding who to call.
We preserve what is left, rebuild the timeline, and establish how someone got in and what they reached. The findings are documented to stand up in front of an insurer, outside counsel, or a regulator.
How an investigation works
- 01 PreserveEvidence copied before it is overwritten
- 02 ReconstructThe timeline rebuilt from logs, disk images, and network records
- 03 IsolateHow they got in, and what they reached
- 04 ReportFindings written to hold up to scrutiny
Documented for your insurer, your counsel, or a regulator
RINNET
A software studio in Chicago, working across the United States.
Pricing
What it costs
Websites have started around $2,500. Software, automation, and security work varies too much for a list price. A two-week automation and a six-month platform are not the same purchase, so those get scoped one at a time. Either way you get a fixed quote in writing before the work begins.
Location
Where we work
We are based in Chicago and work with clients across the United States. Locally we can meet in person at the start, which is worth doing when a project touches physical operations or systems already sitting in your building. Everything after that runs the same way remotely.
Questions we get asked
- What does a website cost?
- Recent website projects have started around $2,500. Where yours lands depends on how many pages there are, whether it needs to talk to anything else, and how exact the design has to be. You get a fixed quote in writing before any work starts.
- Do you build on WordPress, Wix, or Squarespace?
- No. We write the site ourselves. Builders are quicker to stand up, but you inherit a monthly bill, a pile of plugins to keep patched, and a page that loads several times slower than it needs to. Writing it directly avoids all three and costs less to run afterwards.
- Who owns the code when the project is finished?
- You do, along with the accounts, the domain, and the documentation. Nothing we build depends on a platform of ours, and another developer can pick it up without our help.
- Do you only work with businesses in Chicago?
- No. We are based in Chicago and can meet in person here, which helps on projects tied to physical operations or existing on-site systems. Everything else works the same way remotely, anywhere in the United States.
- We are a small company. Do we really need a security review?
- Not always. If you hold customer data, take payments, or run something your business would stop without, it is worth knowing where you stand. If you have a brochure site and no logins, your money is better spent elsewhere, and we will tell you that rather than sell you a review.
